Parent Advisory Council
|
Study after study shows that strong parental support for students at home, and at school,is a key indicator for educational success. One of the ways that you can support your child is to get involved in Tamanawis' Parent Advisory Council. All parents and guardians of children in the school are automatically members of the school's PAC. By attending the monthly PAC meetings you will have the opportunity to work with the school's Principal and other parents. During PAC meetings issues of importance regarding the school community are discussed and plans made to communicate these issues with the rest of the the school community. PAC meetings provide parents with the opportunity to provide advice to their elected representatives and to the School Planning Council. The elected representatives of the PAC can also participate in Surrey District PAC Meetings and Provincial PAC Meetings (BCCPAC). By becoming involved in Tamanawis' PAC you will: gain a better understanding of the school, give input into school based decisions, participate in goal setting for the school, to advocate for what matters most - yours and other students quality education. Each month an Agenda for the next PAC meeting will be released and the results of the Meeting recorded in the Minutes of the Meeting. You can access those agendas and their minutes through the following links. September 2009 Minutes
